Orientation Camp

Welcome to Gods Plans for your life!

The first week of the office had so much excitement and expectation surrounding it. Having visited multiple times in the previous two years, finally coming into the MiXchange space full time is such a blessing. Being able to walk in what God has planned for my life in a space with young, energetic and like minded people truly is an amazing experience! The first few days in the office were full of fun (more of that in another entry) but all the excitement boiled down to the first camp. 

The scene set at Mooikrans farm, with wonderful facilitators. Every morning different teams of people would be set a task to do on the farm. The farms main attraction is horses however there are plenty different animals on the farm. Before breakfast we would do things such as: fetch the horses or cows; milk the cows and feed the chickens, goats and pigs. Once all this was done and we had breakfast in our systems, we would go into activities such as: horse riding; obstacle courses; target shooting and horse grooming. All before having lunch and a session with Pastor John.

Comfort Zones Challenged:

The biggest challenge for me was having to deal with internal problems whilst externally communicating with others. What also made it challenging was having to do all of that whilst being on a farm, dealing with sinus, and doing things I wouldn’t normally do on a day-to-day (even in the city). But the beauty of it was recognizing where I tried to push things away and how Holy Spirit spoke to me in those moments!

Highlights:

Apart from the food and amazing fellowship, it was the building up of relationships and sessions with Pastor John that really made this trip what it was! To be able to see and feel the Holy Spirit moving in each one of us individually but as a group too was so powerful! One thing that stood out to me personally was the horse riding. A ton was learnt during the course of learning how to ride. Learning that your walk with the Lord isn’t just a one way street, but you need to walk with the guiding of Lord and obeying His instruction!

God Encounter:

Pastor John flowing with the Holy Spirit whilst talking about the future of MiXchange was massive. Being able to witness the Lords plans and see the Holy Spirit flow through Pastor John, God was there!
